8 Days | Embark on a fifteen-day cycling journey through the stunning Central European countryside, from charming Prague to classic Vienna.
Highlights: - Take an active adventure through Central Europe, cycling leafy paths from the bohemian centre of Prague to the classical vibe of Vienna.
- Ride alongside the mighty Danube River downstream, passing by romantic riverside castles, picturesque villages and lowland forests surrounding the banks.
- Marvel at the spires and dome of Melk Abbey, perched on a rocky outcrop high above the waters of the Danube.
- The perfect mix of cosmopolitan cities, picture postcard towns and traffic-free cycling paths await, with local knowledge to get the best out of each European destination.
- By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, World Bicycle Relief. Donations provide school kids, health workers, and farmers in far-out areas with bicycles that provide access to education, healthcare, and income.
This is the right challenge for you IF:
- You are both confident and competent in riding a bicycle.
- On this trip we have a single leader that rides with the group, and another that drives the support vehicle (acting as a back marker where needed). Where the vehicle cannot travel directly with the cyclists (e.g. a cyclists-only path) your leader will assign a person from the group to act as a back marker.
- As our riding is done mostly on sealed roads and – along the Danube River – dedicated bike paths with the occasional gravel section, there are no technical cycling skills required.
- As there are potholes and cobblestones in many European cities, it's recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead. As this is an eight-day trip, a large backpack should be enough to carry all of your belongings.
- As accommodation on this trip is twin-share, solo travellers will share a room with other travellers of the same gender. Please note that a single supplement is available on this trip. Space is at a premium in Europe and your hotel is no exception. Rooms are often small, but usually the central location makes up for that. For those travelling as a duo, hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together. In some cases, bathroom facilities will be shared rather than ensuite.
- This trip is a great way to see a lot in a short period of time and it can be part of a longer itinerary if you have more time to explore. You might like to check out Cycle Central Europe & the Danube trip.
Important notes: - International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.
- It is very important that you provide your height at time of booking so we can ensure that you have the appropriate sized bicycle when your trip starts. If you do not provide your height ahead of arrival we cannot guarantee a suitably sized bike for you.
- A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
- Bike helmets are compulsory on this trip. We are unable to hire bike helmets locally so please either bring your own bike helmet from home (recommended) or purchase an approved and well-fitted one at the start of the trip (our leaders can usually assist you with this).
- On this trip we have a single leader that rides with the group, and another that drives the support vehicle (acting as a back marker where needed). Where the vehicle cannot travel directly with the cyclists (e.g. a cyclists-only path) your leader will assign a person from the group to act as a back marker.
- An e-bike option (at additional cost) may be available on this trip. We have limited numbers of these bikes available and they are an 'on request' basis only. A request does not guarantee an e-bike, only a confirmed booking. Please ask your agent for more details at the time of booking.

7 Days | Discover the ancient civilizations of Peru on the Inca Trail
Read more
Highlights: - This trip allows both trekkers and non-trekkers to visit Machu Picchu – one of the magnificent Seven Wonders of the World, perched high in the Andes mountains – with scenic hiking trails and train options.
- Travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, known for the steep and soaring scenery, mystical significance and the Indigenous cultures that still reside here.
- Visit a locally-run restaurant and café in Urubamba in the Sacred Valley that hires single mothers to support their children and the local community – and sit down to enjoy an organic, homemade beet cake and coffee.
- Explore Cusco, South America's oldest continuously inhabited city. The city has ancient foundations, an interesting blend of Incan and Spanish influences and seemingly endless things to do and see.
- Whether you trek the Inca Trail, Inca Quarry Trail or take the scenic train route, you'll be travelling responsibly with a company that cares about balancing profit and purpose. Intrepid is the largest B Corp certified operator on the Inca Trail and we’re committed to operating our treks for the benefit of all.
This trip is right for you IF: - This trip visits places that are at high altitude, and as a result some people can suffer from altitude sickness, regardless of age or physical health. Please see the Medical and health information section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
- This trip involves a lot of walking to see the sites, and if you trek the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail, there'll be strenuous hiking. The trip is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Please bring comfortable footwear suitable to hiking. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
- For those who trek the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail, you'll be camping with basic facilities. It's definitely the journey as well as the final destination (Machu Picchu) that makes this way of exploring Peru worthwhile.
- According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations, all visitors must follow a pre-determined route within the site. This route must be followed in one direction only, and once the guided visit commences exiting and re-entering the site is not permitted. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted. Please refer to the Itinerary for details.
- Travelers who choose different ways of reaching Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail or Train), will not follow the same routes within Machu Picchu. This means that you may not be able to have photos together, overlooking Machu Picchu. This applies to travelers on the same booking or separate bookings.
Important notes: - Full passport details are required at the time of booking. The passport you travel with must match the booking details provided to us. This will be used to apply for your Inca permit and if any info doesn’t match your passport, the Inca authorities will refuse your entry. Delays in providing this information may result in booking fees or changes to your itinerary.
International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out. - A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
- This trip starts at 2pm on Day 1. We recommend that travelers intending to depart Cusco on the final day of the trip book flights out of Cusco no earlier than 12pm to allow for possible delays on the final section of the trail.
- At the time of booking, please advise whether you would like to hike the classic Inca Trail, Inca Quarry Trail or take the train. When available, the Inca Trail will be booked as the default option. Fees may apply to changes made after the time of booking, and availability on other options cannot be guaranteed.
- Inca Trail permits are sold on a request basis only. Once a deposit is paid and passport details are provided, Intrepid will endeavor to secure a permit for you. If Inca Trail permits are unavailable by the time you book, you can opt to hike the Quarry Trail instead or travel to Machu Picchu by train.
- The Inca Trail closes in February to allow cleaning and restoration works. If the trek portion of your trip starts in February, you will be automatically booked to hike the Quarry Trail.
- As you can choose different ways of reaching Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail or Train), you may be joined by other Intrepid and/or non-Intrepid travelers. There is also a small chance you may be the only traveler from your group on your selected option.

19 days | Enjoy the perfect introduction to India's three most popular destinations - Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur - as we explore the icons and discover the secrets of this fascinating region.
Highlights: - The Taj Mahal is not only a sumptuous masterpiece of Indian architecture, but also a truly meaningful stop on any traveller’s journey.
- Experience authentic Rajasthani luxury with a heritage stay at the lavish Bhanwar Vilas in Karauli.
- The charm of Shimla Hill Station offers a great introduction to the Himalayas, and the World Heritage-listed ‘toy-train’ is a great way to get there.
- Learn about Sikhism on a visit to the faith’s most sacred monument, the luminous Golden Temple in Amritsar.
- Breeze through the self-proclaimed ‘Yoga Capital of the World’ in Rishikesh and walk along the banks of the holy Ganges River.
This trip is right for you if: - Old Delhi can be very busy and crowded. While it’s an exciting place to see local life moving around you, be aware that on the walking tour you’ll need to navigate through people, tight spaces, and walkways.
- Rajasthan can reach extremely high temperatures in the summer. While we aim to do our walking tours early in the morning when it’s cooler, remember to keep hydrated and to bring a hat, sunscreen, a long-sleeved shirt, and anything else that will protect you from the sun.
- We visit a number of temples on this trip, which requires a certain level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants/skirts that go past the knees.
- This trip involves some long train rides, which can be tiresome but offer a quintessential Indian experience. The journey from Delhi to Shimla takes nearly a full day of train travel and you’ll also be taking a ten-hour overnight sleeper train from Amritsar to Haridwar.
- Sleeper trains are clean and air-conditioned and a great way to travel long distances while still getting maximum time in each place. Beds are padded berths with sheets, pillow, and blanket provided (although some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet). Please note that you may be sharing with locals of the same or opposite gender.
- We’ll be taking a local bus between Mandi and Dharmsala. The road through the mountains is rough and bumpy, but the scenery, adventure, and opportunity to mingle with locals will distract you from any discomfort.
- In Dharmsala, our vehicle can’t get all the way to the hotel so some walking (500 m) with your luggage will be required.
- As Rishikesh is a sacred town, no alcohol is permitted.
- This trip travels into the Himalayas, where temperatures can get very low. We don’t run the trip in winter, but ensure that you’re well prepared for cold weather at any time of the year. The sun can also be strong at higher altitudes, so make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen, and any other relevant sun protection.
- Long-distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between Dec-Feb.
Important notes: - A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement exclude Day 15 (Sleeper Train) and Day 17 (Camping) where you will be in shared accommodation and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
- Hot air balloon flights are operated by Sky Waltz in Jaipur. Flights operate from September 1st to April 30th and last approximately 60 mins. Return transfers, tea and coffee plus light refreshments, and a certificate of flight are included in the cost. You can register your interest and pay your tour leader at your joining meeting on day 1 of your trip. Payment must be made by cash in either INR/AUD/USD/GBP or credit card and is USD 260pp (subject to change). Flights are subject to availability and weather conditions (tickets are fully refundable in case of bad weather).
- Please note that due to train arrival times there may not be any free time in Delhi at the end of this tour. We advise booking additional accommodation to extend your stay.
- Please provide your full name exactly as it appears on your passport at the time of booking (including any middle names listed on your passport. Fees may apply for adding or amending details within 45 days of departure, and in some cases, you will be required to cover the cost of issuing a new ticket.
- As this is a combination trip, the composition of your group, as well as the group leader, may change on Day 7.

Follow the southern trails to rugged clifftops and sandy beaches
Read more
Tasmania’s southern coastline often misses the notoriety it so definitely deserves, but with six days exploring the trails and scenic walks on Bruny Island and beyond, you’ll discover how naturally diverse this slice of the state actually is. Join your experienced leader on a number of day hikes – including Cape Queen Elizabeth, East Cloudy Head and South Cape Bay Beach walks – truly understanding the harsh beauty of the terrain and the dominating force of the southern oceans. Take time winding through native Australian bushland past colourful birdlife, swap the roads for rapids as you float down the Picton River, and stroll high above the forest canopies on the acclaimed Tahune Airwalk. This Tasmanian adventure is all about appreciating the lush outdoors, without any hassle about the travel, transfers or bookings.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Hobart / Bruny Island Welcome to Tasmania! Be ready nice and early at 7.45 am to meet up with your group and local leader. At 8 am, head on a half-hour drive to Kettering, where you’ll jump on a barge with your private vehicle and make the journey over to Bruny Island. Depending on how busy this crossing is, you should be on the island – ready for the first walk – mid morning. Once arrived, lace up your walking shoes because it’s time to go exploring! Begin your adventures on the Cape Queen Elizabeth Walk – hugging the coastline and peering across to scrubby headlands and white sand beaches. You’ll have time to snap some panorama shots along the way, so have your camera handy. After a leisurely 5 hours walking, take a short drive of less than an hour to your accommodation for the evening. Once you’ve freshened up, join your group for an included welcome dinner at the Hotel Bruny pub around 7 pm. Keep the introductions going over a drink – or two!
Accommodation Included ActivitiesOptional ActivitiesMealsDay 2: Bruny IslandAfter breakfast, take a 45-minute drive to the start of East Cloudy Head Track in the South Bruny National Park. The first few kilometres are along the white sands of Cloudy Bay Beach. Depending on the time of year, you may witness nesting shorebirds laying their eggs, or the eggs dotted along the soft sands, so stick to the wet sands so as not to disturb the nesting. Follow the beach south and turn inland along Imlays Creek, where you’ll follow an old 4WD track uphill and down dale for another few kilometres. On arrival at Cloudy Head, marvel at the views along Bruny Island’s south coast and out to The Friars rocks at sea. On a clear day, you might even be able to spot Kunanyi (Mt Wellington) and the southern ranges! Enjoy a pre-prepared lunch up here that you carried in your daypack, perhaps spotting some birdlife that call this area home. After lunch, head on a Cape Bruny Lighthouse tour – an 1830s heritage-listed lighthouse that sits over 100m high above the rugged cliff tops of the island. Local Bruny Island residents are passionate about showing travellers around the lighthouse, and they’ll guide you through the structure, as well as fill you in on the history. Head back to your accommodation at around 5.30 pm, then it’s off to the pub again! With not a whole lot around, it makes for an easy choice. AccommodationIncluded Activities- Bruny Island - Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tour
Optional ActivitiesMealsDay 3: Bruny Island / DoverStock up on breakfast, then hit the trails again – this time to the Fluted Capes Loop Walk. Head to the surprisingly calm Adventure Bay and get trekking towards some vantage points with amazing coastal views. It may be a bit freaky for those a bit nervous about heights, but your guide will be on hand to keep you to the well-marked trails and away from any danger. The trade off with sheer cliffs and narrow track edges are the vistas you’ll see – simply incredible. It is quite an uphill gradient, and lunch will be out on the trail or at the end, depending on your pace. After lunch, head back to the mainland and take a 2.5-hour drive to the town of Dover. This afternoon is a scenic route, so be sure to have your favourite playlist downloaded. Check in, freshen up, then join your guide for an included dinner at a local restaurant in town. They know all the good places to go. AccommodationIncluded ActivitiesOptional ActivitiesMealsDay 4: South Cape Bay / DoverAfter breakfast, it’s time to walk! Today, you and your small group will be heading along the South Cape Bay Beach track towards the wild southern coastline of Tasmania. Skirt along Cockle Creek, passing the renowned walker’s registration box, then work your way over Moulders Hill’s gentle rocky slopes for the next few kilometres. Pass through marshland, over some gentle hills, until you reach it – the rugged cliff tops surrounding South Cape Bay. Eerily scenic, this section of the trail is such a contrast to the forested trails you’ve been walking through this morning. Peer out towards South Cape, Lion Rock and the turbulent oceans below. This is the true south of Australia. Return back via the same route, head back to your accommodation, then once again join your travel crew out to dinner. Your local guide will have a couple of great options up their sleeve. AccommodationIncluded ActivitiesOptional ActivitiesMealsDay 5: Dover / Huon Valley / HobartKeep the action going today with a change of scenery and activity. Depart Dover and head towards the Picton River, where you will jump on the water in a raft or kayak and battle some of the rapids downstream. Work together to paddle, drift and splash down the river and pass by landmarks such as The Gorge, Top Bridge, and great stretches of Huon Pine and Eucalyptus Regnans forests. Stop for some snacks along the way, and for a breather too! Head back towards Tahune and join the acclaimed Tahune Airwalk for an elevated walking experience. These suspended walkways sit around 30 metres above the forest floor, and to access the Airwalk, you’ll climb around 100 steps. Continue to the final section overlooking the Huon Valley, sitting at a height of 50 metres. Some of the views towards the Huon River, Picton and beyond are simply stunning. Afterwards, drive back to Hobart, check in to your hotel and relax. Your leader will have worked out some options for an included dinner tonight to celebrate a wonderful adventure around Tasmania’s South Coast. Cheers to you! AccommodationIncluded Activities- Tahune Adventures - Tahune Airwalk
- Tahune Adventures - Twin River Adventure
