This trip is perfect for you IF:
  • While the cycling distances on this trip are relatively short (the longest ride is only 50 kilometres) the terrain of the Dalmatian Coast is naturally hilly and the climate often warm. You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy the trip, but remember we will always have the support vehicle on hand if you need to take a break for an hour or a day.
  • As our riding is done mostly on sealed roads with the occasional gravel cycle path.
  • As there are cobblestones and many stairs in most European towns, and space in our support van is limited, it's strongly recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead.
  • You'll be spending your nights in hotels at each step on this tour, ranging from comfortable to basic levels. Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.

Important notes:

  • International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.
  • It is very important that you provide your height at time of booking so we can ensure that you have the appropriate sized bicycle when your trip starts. If you do not provide your height ahead of arrival we cannot guarantee a suitably sized bike for you.
  •  A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Day 1 (Split) where you will be in shared accommodation and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
  • Bicycle hire is included in your trip price. Please advise your height at time of booking so that we can ensure a suitable sized bike is arranged.
  • Bike helmets are compulsory on this trip. We are unable to hire bike helmets locally so please ensure you bring your own bike helmet from home.
  • On this trip we have a single leader that rides with the group, and another that drives the support vehicle (acting as a back marker where needed). Where the vehicle cannot travel directly with the cyclists (e.g. a cyclists-only path) your leader will assign a person from the group to act as a back marker.
  • An e-bike option (at additional cost) may be available on this trip. We have limited numbers of these bikes available and they are an 'on request' basis only. A request does not guarantee an e-bike, only a confirmed booking. Please ask your agent for more details at the time of booking.
  • This trip is a combination of 2 trips. Please review the Itinerary for details of when your fellow travelers and leader will change.

    • There's an overnight train on Day 2 of the trip. The train has four-berth couchette compartments with upper and lower bunks on each side, so you may be sharing a confined space with people outside of your travel group. this train is occasionally cancelled at very late notice, meaning we take a minivan instead.

    • On this trip we have a single leader that rides with the group, and another that drives the support vehicle (acting as a back marker where needed).
    • As our riding is done mostly on sealed roads with the occasional gravel cycle path there are no technical cycling skills required – but given the hills involved we do suggest practicing riding downhill so you’re comfortable with this once the trips begins.

    Highlights:

    • Size up mighty Mt Kilimanjaro from the lush tropical surrounds of Marangu, as you prepare to ascend the incredible mountain with the help of an experienced climber.
    • Travel with experienced guides and porters. You'll be in great hands – with one guide for every two passengers – so all you’ll have to worry about is soaking up the scenery and keeping your footing!

    • Feel good knowing that you’re supporting an official partner of IMEC’s Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP). This means that all our climbs have been assessed and scored based on a number of criteria, all of which are designed to ensure the proper treatment of porters.
Is this trip the right challenge for you?:
    • A good level of fitness is required to join this trip. While the distances covered are not far, the effects of altitude will make it much harder than the usual uphill hike.
    • To allow for your body to adjust to the altitude the going will be slow. The speed of the hiking may be much slower than you are use too. However, we have found that this slow speed allows your body’s reserve levels to remain higher plus also allows for your body to adjust to the altitude as you walk.
    • Tried and tested all-purpose hiking equipment is required. Night-time temperatures can get very cold above 3500 m so warm clothing and sleeping bag is essential. Hiring of equipment/sleeping bag is also possible.
    • Your safety comes first. All our guides and trek leaders have been trained by independent, UK-based medical specialists and are proficient in first aid. They also carry oxygen cylinders on all treks for emergency use.
    • Be prepared for dusty and therefore dirty conditions. It can be tough going hiking for continuous days without a shower. A dust mask, wet wipes and face washer may become your best friends.

    Important notes:

    • International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.
    •  A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
    • A Self-Assessment Form is required for this trip. Your booking agent will provide you with this form at time of booking to fill out before arrival.
    •  Parts of your trip go above 2800 meters / 9200 feet where it is common for travelers to experience some adverse health effects due to the altitude.
    • Please arrange your flights to arrive at starting point hotel before 4pm on Day 1 in order to attend the very important pre-climb briefing and information session.

    • In 2025, Ramadan will take place from 1 to 30 March. Travelling during this holy month can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period

    Important notes:

    • You’ll forget the ache in your body and the chill on your nose the second you’re warming your hands over a plate of momos, but the memories of Himalayan vistas and the feeling of accomplishment will last a lifetime.

This trip is right for you IF:

    • There are 16 days of strenuous trekking on this trip. You’ll be trekking up to 8 hours a day and at altitudes over 5500m at times. We can’t underestimate how important it is to be in excellent fitness and health, which means training in the lead up to your trip in order to be best prepared.
    • The weather can be unpredictable in the Himalayas and every year a significant number of trips have flights to or from Lukla delayed or cancelled due to weather conditions. See Day 1 of the itinerary for the alternative plans should this happen on your trip.
    • The trekking lodges, known as teahouses, that we stay in on the trek are very simple with only basic facilities. Hot water may not always be available and may cost extra, as will access to electricity points for charging devices. Wifi is available at some locations, but connections may be poor.
    • What you need to take will vary depending on the season you are trekking in and it’s important to be prepared.
    • The Everest Base Camp part of the trek is a very popular route and you will encounter many other trekkers and groups on your trip as you trek and at the teahouses.

    Important notes:
    • This trip starts in Kathmandu on Day 1 at 2 pm. This allows time after the joining meeting to explore Kathmandu. Due to the demands of travelling at high altitudes a Passenger Self Assessment Form is required for this trip.
    • International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.

    • You will be trekking on hilly terrain, generally on well-defined paths, walking anywhere between 2-7 hours per day, on average about 5 hours a day. Altitude may exceed 5545 metres.

    • You must bring an emergency fund of 500 USD in cash with you on this trip, which you may need to use in case of delayed or cancelled flights. Please be aware that in the event of an emergency evacuation, Intrepid does not have control over which helicopter service may be used. Some helicopters are not in regular use with Intrepid and have not passed our internal safety auditing.
    • We advise allowing a few extra days in Kathmandu at the end of your trip should your return flights from Lukla be delayed due to weather conditions.
    • The minimum age for this trip is 15 at time of travel.
    • You may be asked to provide 2 passport size photographs for your trekking permit.
    • Your health and safety is our priority. Your leader may delay or stop your ascent based on your medical conditions and AMS symptoms. Please ensure your insurance includes coverage for activities above 3000m, mountain rescue, and helicopter evacuation costs. Without adequate insurance cover, helicopter evacuation requires upfront payment.
    • Please provide your full name and nationality exactly as per passport at the time of booking (including any middle names listed on your passport) for flight tickets. Fees may apply for amendments to details within 30 days of departure, and in some cases, you will be required to cover the cost of issuing new tickets.

    Classic Hikes of Patagonia

Experience a 15-day trek through Argentina and Chile, hiking Laguna de Los Tres, Laguna Torre, and Torres del Paine National Park. End with a lagoon hike in Ushuaia and a night in Buenos Aires, exploring Patagonia’s top landscapes.

    Highlights:

    • Witness Argentina’s Perito Moreno Glacier and listen to the symphony of thundering ice cracking along the 30 km-long expanse of electric blue. This is one of the few glaciers left that isn’t shrinking!
    • Spend three days camped among the peaks of Chilean Patagonia – a great opportunity for a true digital detox. Sleep under an untouched sky and witness vast, ever-changing landscapes by day.
    • Trek past the most beautiful waterfalls and glaciers of Torres del Paine National Park with your trip leader, and spot wildlife like guanacos, flamingos, foxes and rhea birds along the way.
    • Explore Laguna Esmeralda – arguably the best hike in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Near Ushuaia (The End of the World), this is the nation’s only park with an ocean coastline.
    • Begin and end your trip with time in bustling Buenos Aires – the perfect place to reconnect with the urban world after a remote adventure in the wild. Try local Argentinian food, dance the tango and hit the nightlife!

This trip is right for you IF:

    • This is a hiking trip, you should come prepared as the fitter you are, the more enjoyable all the hikes will be.
    • Please read the packing list carefully and bring all essential items with you. Your suitability to the weather in Patagonia is an important factor to consider before you travel. Be prepared for all elements – rain, wind and extreme cold.
    • The three-day camping adventure in Torres del Paine National Park is one of our favourite parts of this trip but remember facilities will be more basic on this part of the tour than others. We've sourced our accommodation very carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Intrepid style of travel, but please note that service and accommodation in Argentina and Chile may differ from standards at home.
    • In order to make the most of our time in Patagonia, this trip includes two particularly long travel days (Days 7 and 11). Please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates. The reward for your patience comes in the form of jaw-dropping glacial scenery.

    Important notes:

    • Full passport details are required at the time of booking in order to purchase entrance fees to certain National Parks as well as flights and overland transfers.
    • International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.

While ATMs are widely available in the cities, they are limited in the countryside or certain regions such Patagonia. There is also a daily limit for withdraws of around USD80. The exchange rate does fluctuant.
    • This trip includes domestic flights. Argentina is particularly strict on excess baggage and usually enforces a maximum allowance of 15 kilograms for checked luggage.

Journey to the Antarctic Circle (Ocean Endeavour)

Journey to the Antarctic Circle (Ocean Endeavour)

Embark on a 14-day Antarctic adventure, following in Captain Cook's wake. Sail from Ushuaia aboard the Ocean Endeavour to the icy wilderness of Antarctica. Witness seals on ice floes, whales breaching, and penguins along the shoreline.

    Highlights:

    • Enjoy daily Zodiac excursions to iconic landing sites, abundant with birdlife and busy penguins, and witness icebergs in a thousand different shades of blue.
    • Experience almost endless daylight in high summer once you are inside the Antarctic Circle. Then, push further south than most Antarctic expeditions venture, exploring the remoteness of this less-visited part of the Antarctic Peninsula.
    • Customize your trip with a wide range of optional activities on top of regular Zodiac excursions. Explore the water by kayak, sign up for a photography masterclass, rejuvenate with onboard yoga and massages or take a refreshing polar plunge.
    • While most polar expeditions of this kind have a crew-to-passenger ratio of ten, fifteen or twenty to one, Intrepid expeditions on the Ocean Endeavour have an expedition crew member for every eight passengers for a greater personal touch.
    • Our experienced leaders have made hundreds of polar voyages between them. They’re experts in marine biology, glaciology and Antarctic history, and they’ll share their knowledge throughout the journey during a comprehensive lecture program.

This trip is right for you IF:

    • The Ocean Endeavour is an ice-strengthened ship – large, sturdy and suited to the unpredictable Antarctic waters. Some people may experience seasickness in occasional rough seas however, we do have a doctor on board should you need assistance. Over-the-counter seasickness medication is usually an easy fix.
    • Temperatures in the Antarctic can get very cold, but it also can get surprisingly warm when the sun comes out. We recommend dressing in layers when you journey outside. We’ll provide you with waterproof boots on loan that are sturdy and warm, as well as an inner jacket that is yours to keep. Please see the Essential Trip Information for notes on what to pack.
    • Depending on the weather, you’ll be travelling around in a Zodiac boat quite regularly to explore the area and search for wildlife. It can get cold and wet on the Zodiac, so make sure you dress appropriately and keep your camera safe and dry. A fair level of mobility is needed for wet and dry landings from the boat, as well as on steep terrain, snow and other uneven surfaces. The Ocean Endeavour has a lift, but you’ll need to take the stairs to get to the gangway and some other parts of the ship that the lift does not provide access to.
    • The weather plays a pivotal part in this adventure and, although there’s an itinerary in place, there are no guarantees that you’ll be able to do everything that is planned. A level of flexibility and openness to embracing the unexpected are important in expedition travel, especially in such a remote area like the Antarctic. There are nearly 200 recognised sites in the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetlands and the places mentioned in the itinerary may need to be changed to other locations – which are just as interesting and beautiful! We may also be confined to the ship during rough weather, but there are plenty on onboard resources and activities. The ship’s library and educational lectures are ideal ways to stay entertained, while the wellness spa, saunas, gym and yoga classes will keep you fresh for when the weather clears.

    Important notes:

International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.

    Mont Blanc Highlights

Embark on an eight-day Alps adventure with daily hikes, scenic cable car rides, and a stay in Chamonix. Guided by an International Mountain Leader, you'll enjoy stunning views and safe exploration.

    Highlights:

    • Spend a week hiking the French Swiss Alps to see some of Europe’s most beautiful natural sights, including glaciers, lakes and mountains.
    • Soar over spectacular scenery and soak in unbeatable views during a series of cable car rides, meaning you can walk through the region’s best landscapes without the tiring climbs.
    • Explore with an experienced International Mountain Leader – a highly qualified guide who will ensure the group’s safety while bringing the scenery to life.
    • Stay in a historic hotel in the heart of Chamonix , surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Unpack just once and enjoy an epic location that can’t be topped.
    • Hiking can really work up an appetite, which is why all meals are included on hiking days, ensuring you’re fueled up for your adventures.

This trip is right for you IF:

    • This is a walking trip, and you must be in a good physical shape to fully enjoy it. On most of the walking days, we will walk for up to 5 hours.
    • To avoid long and difficult climbs, cable car lifts have been included on 4 walking days. These rides will reward you with breathtaking views, but please be aware you will be very high off the ground.
    • Be sure to bring the appropriate gear required for alpine hikes. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
    • This trip visits points over 2500 m, where there is a risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness. Please be aware of the symptoms and let your leader know if you or any of your fellow travelers experience any.
    • On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 15 kg (33 lb). Most travelers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera for daytrips.

    Important notes:

    • Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6pm on Day 1. Please see Joining Point Hotel listed in the Essential Trip Information for this itinerary.
    • International flights are not included, but we can provide a quote on request. The final itinerary will outline what's included, such as local transportation, meals (e.g., 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners), and specific hotel details. For more information, feel free to reach out.

    • Your adventure ends on Day 8 after breakfast. There are no activities included on that day. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip.
    • The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.

    Authentic Central America

    Authentic Central America

16 days | On this 16-day Central American adventure, you’ll explore the vast lakes, steaming volcanos and thick jungles of Mexico, Belize and Guatemala.

    Highlights:

    • Enjoy traditional Guatemalan hospitality with a home cooked lunch in a local home in San Juan La Laguna, after visiting a local midwife, walking through medicinal gardens and experiencing a weaving and dying workshop.
    • Head to Tikal National Park within the dense Maya forest to explore ancient Maya ruins at the archaeological site – you might like to opt to swing through the canopy on the optional zipline experience!
    • Soak up extended time in the paradise of Caye Caulker and unique Antigua, offering the perfect opportunity for some laidback island vibes and buzzing city life. Swim among tropical fish and then hit the salsa lessons.
    • Visit the colorful markets of Chichicastenango, nicknamed Chichi, where you can explore the local handmade wares like jade jewellery, pottery and traditional huipils – the traditional dress worn by Maya women.
    • See some of the best of Central America with loads of free time where you can rent bikes and explore on wheels, go snorkeling and kayaking or rent a paddle board and take in the landscape from the water.

This trip is right for you if:

    • This trip involves some long days of travel by private and local transport. While this can be tiring, it's also a fantastic way to rub shoulders with the locals. You’ll be crossing the borders between three countries on this trip and while it is usually straightforward, you may need to be patient.
    • Central America can get really hot and humid. Carry plenty of water as hydration is key, especially when walking a lot.
    • It’s a good idea to try and brush up on as many Spanish words as possible. While locals are friendly, they’re also shy, so knowing some local lingo is a great way to break the ice and show you care.
    • This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Epic Mexico, Belize & Guatemala or Epic Mexico to Costa Rica.

    Important notes:

    • A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Days 2 & 3 (Tulum), Days 10 & 11 (Rio Dulce) and Days 13 & 14 (Lake Atitlan) where you will be in shared accommodation and is subject to availability.
    • This tour includes some nights in multi-share rooms (triple and quad). This means travelers on the same booking may be split between rooms due to single gender allocation.
    • Please be careful when booking flights from Antigua; make sure you fly out of Guatemala City Airport [GUA]. Guatemala City Airport is the closest airport to Antigua. Please do not book flights from Antigua & Barbuda Airport [ANU] as this is an island in the Caribbean.

    A Week in Jordan × × × × × × ×
    A Week in Jordan

    A Week in Jordan

7 days | Discover one of the jewels of the Middle East with a week in Jordan – home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

    Highlights:

    • Only Petra’s Treasury – one of the Seven Wonders of the World – is stunning enough to be the temple of the Holy Grail. Your pass to this sacred site lasts two full days so that you can explore every nook and cranny at your own pace.
    • See the lowest point on earth – the Dead Sea – and float in its famously salty waters, soaking up its healing minerals and lathering yourself in the rejuvenating mud (if the mood strikes).
    • Sleep under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp in Wadi Rum with all the creature comforts, waking for a stunning sunrise and a thrill-seeking 4WD adventure.
    • Take a guided walk around Amman to learn about the city’s diverse history (and also to stake out where to get the best falafel and hummus).
    • Get a taste of the ancient and modern sides of Jordan with loads of free time – just ask your knowledgeable local leader, who’s always ready to answer every question and provide the best local tips.

This trip is right for me if:

    • You’re the boss on this trip. There’s loads of free time to do whatever you want or optional activities to show you the way. With so much to see and do, Jordan can sometimes be expensive, so budget a little extra cash for activities that aren’t included.
    • It’s not all hot desert days in Jordan, as the winter months (December to February) can be quite cold. Temperatures in northern parts of the country can drop to freezing overnight. Snowfall around these areas, as well as Amman, is common. Pack smart to prepare you for varying temperatures if travelling during these months.
    • There is quite a bit of walking involved in visiting Jordan's historic sites, especially in Petra and Wadi Rum, so a reasonable level of fitness is required. Most of the time there is no shade so remember to bring a hat, sun protection, and sturdy, comfortable walking shoes.

    Important notes:

A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Days 2,3 (Desert Camp) where you will be in shared accommodation and is subject to availability.

Cycle the New South Wales South Coast

Bikes and beaches come together for the perfect coastal ride

Cycle the NSW South Coast from cosmopolitan Wollongong to charming Kiama, enjoying spectacular views, ancient rock formations, pristine beaches and fascinating heritage along the way. Just a stone’s throw from busy Sydney, the South Coast is an ideal place to ride. From the protected coastal bike path to laidback Thirroul, to the inspiring views atop the Illawarra Escarpment and the largest Buddhist monastery in the Southern Hemisphere, this trip has something for everyone at a pace everyone can enjoy. And there’s plenty to do off the bike as well!

    Itinerary:

    Day 1: Wollongong
Welcome to Wollongong, the coastal heart of the Illawarra region. Your adventure officially begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm tonight. You can arrive at any time before this as there are no daytime activities planned. Just an hour south of Sydney, Wollongong – or “The Gong” as it is known locally – has become one of the premier destinations on the South Coast. If you arrive early, you may want to meander through the Wollongong Botanic Garden or get close to Australian and exotic fauna at Symbio Wildlife Park. Or simply relax in one of the many outdoor saltwater pools. After our meeting, you may choose to go out for an evening meal with the group. If you are driving, take the Grand Pacific Drive through the Royal National Park. You’ll get a true highlight travelling across the breathtaking Sea Cliff Bridge that juts out into the Pacific Ocean as it follows the contours of the sandstone cliff face. It’s a small detour but well worth the effort.

      Day 2: Thirroul & Wollongong
Your first morning is a relaxed one. After breakfast and getting acquainted with your bike you’ll have the chance to further explore this beautiful area on a guided ride from Wollongong Harbour to the laidback coastal town of Thirroul. This route follows a dedicated bike path, hugging the coastline past a chain of sandy bays, including Wollongong North Beach (the city’s favourite place to swim or surf), as well as Brighton, Bulli and Sandon Point beaches. The trail is paved the whole way and with almost no roads to deal with, making it the perfect introduction to riding. We’ll take our time enjoying the coast and views of the towering Illawarra Escarpment. In Thirroul there is ample time to explore, feel the sand between your toes on the pristine beach, swim in a saltwater pool or grab a bite to eat at a local café. After lunch cycle your way back to Wollongong, then perhaps enjoy dinner as the sun goes down over the South Pacific Ocean.

Today’s ride is a little longer and includes a lot more climbing – but is well worth it! Your first stop of the day is Wollongong Harbour and a quick visit to the Flagstaff Point Lighthouse before turning inland and engaging your easiest gears as you spin up the Illawarra Escarpment and the Kembla Heights viewpoint. Catch your breath and enjoy stunning views over Wollongong and the ocean before a well-earned freewheeling descent to visit Nan Tien Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. Relax in the peaceful surroundings then head to the north shore of Lake Illawarra, following a flat bike path all the way to peaceful Windang. After a long but rewarding day in the saddle, put your feet up or just kick back and relax by the lake. If you are still feeling active there are plenty of short walks nearby. Cruise through lovely Shellharbour, then detour down to the famed Mystics Beach (Minnamurra Beach), a local surfing haven. After pausing to enjoy the view, continue south to the small town of Bombo and the stunning Bombo Headland. Stop for a quick photo op at the impressive Cathedral Rocks, then park your bike and hike the circular walking trail along the headland. Admire the unique heritage-listed Bombo Headland Quarry Geological Site, where hexagonal columns of basalt jut up out of the ocean, and the sheltered Boneyard Beach. Continue to the gorgeous seaside town of Kiama. Ride past the picturesque sea baths along the harbour and the awesome Kiama Blowhole and lighthouse.
